Control run is forced with NCEP daily climatological winds and monthly surface fluxes for heat and freshwater. The model also uses a flux correction scheme that relaxes the SST and SSS to the monthly climatology from the SODA reanalysis. At the southern and eastern boundary a radiation open boundary condition is used together with nudging to the vertical structure of T,S, U and V from SODA.
